Great that the wheels of justice are turning, even if it is more of a grind than a turn. It's also another opportunity for the Russian people who only see state controlled journalism to see that there is not a lot of international support for their leader. Each step might give more people the courage to speak out.
Hi. I don’t understand this: “ (This week, Ukraine’s prosecutor general said the country would try a Russian soldier for war crimes, the first such prosecution in the conflict that began this winter.)”
Quite a few Russians have been tried for war crimes. And sentences. This guy linked has already had his appeal and is doing his time. The link is from May 2022. What does ‘this winter’ mean? There’s a major mistake in the WSJ article (this kid wasn’t a tank division commander - that’s a job for a 50 year old general) but that’s a year old.
He was the first tried Russian and I wrote him up almost a year ago in a book that’s about to come out
Thank you Lauren, this is really interesting.
Thanks Lauren. A very helpful and insightful summary of what might happen now.
Glad I can be of help. Thank you.
Wow; thank you Lauren. Julie

Where are the warrants for Bush and Obama?
I whole heartedly agree with you and the actions of the ICC. I wish they would take similar action with Bush2 and his administration.
The Big Question Is: How much of A bounty is going to be put on Pootie's Head?

As always, you are spot on. I hope to see this monster face justice. You give me hope.
People were burned alive at the Maidan in 2014 while Vicky handed out bagels. Not a peep from the ICC.

As I wrote at the top, this is a repost of a story I wrote in May.
Ok :)
