It is so hard to only hear the bad news. I followed you when you wrote for the New York Times, but it was when you expressed your personal feelings about GOOD news, Biden’s plane taking off for his inauguration, and the subsequent fallout, that I was truly hooked. I could so relate to your chills that day.

Thank you for sharing this as I often wonder why stories that were everywhere disappear as suddenly. (Mind you I don’t always go looking as hard as I could and should.) Trust is also an issue, as once I’m reading stories from unfamiliar news sources, its harder to be sure I won’t boost fake news or propaganda in error.

The world is indeed falling apart, in large part due to climate systems falling apart. Advertisers who stand to lose $ where climate changes start to work. So poor people in disasters are not on the front page.
