Subtlety doesn’t work on the internet. I know this. 

And it clearly doesn't work in The New York Post, The Federalist and other conservative media outlets. I don't know if they even try for it. I’ll explain.

Last week, as I was dealing with some very painful personal stuff, I started getting messages from crazy men across various platforms telling me I should die and what a piece of garbage I am. Most of it was nonsensical, some of it was flat-out disgusting. Here are a few of the messages.
