What can we say about Simone Biles, a world-class athlete who has decided not to compete in the Olympics? Apparently, a lot.

Thousands of words have been spilled already about the decision she made yesterday. Most of us in the media have been relatively understanding of the fact that she has chosen to pull out of the Olympic Games, but I can’t help but feel like the coverage has been a little breathless and judgy. That was just my overall impression though, so I decided to take a closer look at what’s being published and said.
